Does this mean the Jason goes to NY & outer space is no longer recognized? what about his battle w Freddy? BULLSHIT! remakes & reboots are proof there is no talent or imagination in Hollywood anymore.
the Director of TCM remake? that sucked--- how good could this turd be?

I hated the trailer up unto the final shot where it showed Jason running towards his victim.

Kind of gave me a tiny slice of hope that they are doing something different and making this version of Jason into more of a serial killer the supernatural monster.

No way am I going to see that....Too scary

Michael Bey needs to suffer the torment of watching Jason Takes Manhatten from now until he dies of brain hemmorrage.

Jason is not supposed to run. He walks, you trip, he kills.

I really hope that the Jason that was running is a practical joke by one of the asshole characters trying to scare his g/f.....then he turns around and gets decapitated by the real one.

Got any other links?

My employer blocks only one thing online and that is anything under the domain of myspace.

Hey, that's really cool. I like the fact that they are taking a 20-something old idea, destroying the premise, ignoring the history, and changing everything about it, but still trying to cash in on the name of a successful franchise.

Something different? Jason was a serial killer in parts 2-4 AND he ran in those movies. They didn't start doing the supernatural bullshit until part 6.

JASON WASN'T IN THE ORIGINAL FRIDAY THE 13TH

except at the very end...

This will probably be the most hardcore version of Jason we've seen. I loved how Kane Hodder played the part(stalkin' mofos), but this could be real good.

He also didn't get the mast untill number 3

Posted By: Tony Dorian (Guest)  on October 24, 2008 at 04:23 PM

He did jog a little bit in the early friday the 13ths. I just hope no one from the Hills or seventh heaven is on it,you need unknown actors.

I'm confused... Doesn't New Line own Jason?

I know Paramount kept the Friday the 13th name... But can they still make Jason movies or is New line/Paramount one company now?

Posted By: Poppycock (Guest)  on October 24, 2008 at 04:37 PM

I think this new millenium Jason should be played by a black guy - for the sake of diversity. Gary Coleman would be a good choice.
Obama 2008!

New Line owns the character, Paramount holds the title which is why it took a while for the remake to get made. Their were all sorts of deals to work out.
The entire trailer looks very similar to the trailers for the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which makes me want to vomit.

I'm a massive fan of the F13 series, and have seen um all, but really, no-one cares about the first one; it's about an old woman who goes round killing people because 10 years ago(or whatever) some kids were horrible to her retarded son... but it turns out he isn't dead.

Why then is he all grown up, with Hockey mask, in what's meant to be the first film of the series?

Oh yeah, and he shouldn't run either.

"Hey, that's really cool. I like the fact that they are taking a 20-something old idea, destroying the premise, ignoring the history, and changing everything about it, but still trying to cash in on the name of a successful franchise."

I would hardly call the franchise successful. It's only made 350mil worldwide, and more than 100 of that was from the Freddy v. Jason spinoff.

I think it has promise. I liked the new TCM almost as much as the original. I mean, seriously, could a re-launch be TANY WORSE? I liked the Jason movies when I was like fuckin' ten, hehe.

I love how everyone here talks about that the remake will destroy the greatness that was the original. The studio can make 10+ crappy sequels, one of them being set in outer space in the future, but this remake will kill the Friday the 13th franchise?

The way everyone is all up in arms you'd think the were remaking Gone With The Wind or Smokey & The Bandit or some other classic film.

Posted By: D (guest) (Guest)  on October 24, 2008 at 11:22 PM

If they would of made one more movie before this one this one would actually be the 13th friday the 13th movie.

D, I will fucking murder you for that meta-comment bullshit.

I don't care what anyone says, this looks like it will kick all sorts of ass. The trailer reminded me of a combination of the first four movies, which without a doubt are the scariest. It is gonna be a blast!

Posted By: FridayFan (Guest)  on October 25, 2008 at 07:29 PM

Not as if they are remaking a classic.

Posted By: Guest#4351 (Guest)  on October 26, 2008 at 04:31 AM

you all sound so stupid

Posted By: vival la kylution (Guest)  on October 26, 2008 at 08:19 AM

To everyone who says "I'm a big fan, but Jason doesn't run" ...

Go back and watch 2, 3 and 4 again. Oh, gee, is that Jason running after Ginny Field, CHris Higgins and Trish Jarvis? Why, I think it is!

Posted By: Jed (Guest)  on October 26, 2008 at 02:14 PM

Not only should Jason run in this film, he should jog continuously, doing laps around Camp Crystal Lake while Crazy Ralph follows slowly behind in a car, leaning out the window with a megaphone, motivating him with self-improvement catchphrases.

I think it's important to address all of the stupid fucking comments, to set things straight.

#1: "Jason is not supposed to run. He walks, you trip, he kills."

Wrong. Watch Part 2. That is if you ever did to begin with. He clearly runs. He reacts quickly in Part 3 and 4 as well.

Jason stopped running or acting quickly around the time that he was resurrected from the dead in 6.

And you people call yourselves fans.
Just because he doesn't run OFTEN doesn't mean that he can't. Get a clue.

#2: "Does this mean the Jason goes to NY & outer space is no longer recognized? what about his battle w Freddy? BULLSHIT!"

Here I thought everyone would be glad that this idiotic bullshit is finally being canonically thrown away.

Thank god. Anyone who thought Mathattan, Jason X, or FvJ were good films, are total morons.

#3: "Hey, that's really cool. I like the fact that they are taking a 20-something old idea, ignoring the history, but still trying to cash in on the name of a successful franchise. "

Guess what? The entire franchise is BUILT off of doing exactly what you've said. From Friday the 13th Part 2 through Freddy vs Jason.

So... yeah. What exactly is your point, dipshit?

Oh wait. You don't have one.

#4: "JASON WASN'T IN THE ORIGINAL FRIDAY THE 13TH"

What the hell do you want? A cookie, for your expert film knowledge?

This film is supposed to cover parts 1, 2, and 3. Which I ALWAYS thought SHOULD have been put together in one film.

It would have made the bullshit filler a lot less, and didn't require 3 goddamn films to get him into the story AND to have him grab a mask.

Proof that this movie finally gets it RIGHT.

#5: "The way everyone is all up in arms you'd think the were remaking Gone With The Wind or Smokey & The Bandit or some other classic film."

Well fuck you too.

Just because it's YOUR opinion that it's "not a classic", doesn't mean many other people don't still think it is.

If you don't care for the franchise, then shut the fuck up, and spare us your ignorance on the subject, ok?

#6: "Not only should Jason run in this film, he should jog continuously, doing laps around Camp Crystal Lake while Crazy Ralph follows slowly behind in a car, leaning out the window with a megaphone, motivating him with self-improvement catchphrases. "

Oh, little kid. If only you knew how completly NOT funny you are.

Frankly, the franchise IS a classic. I don't give a fuck what anyone says, yes, it fucking is. To me, and to many others.

This is an iconic part of American heritage that will never be forgotten.

See a Hockey mask and what do you think of today? Hence: Classic.

However, they did have many mistakes. This film can only improve a franchise with these goofs. And I loving what I see.

A remake that gets everything RIGHT. Wow.
